MY SYSTEM IS IN FAILURE, WHAT DO I DO?

Now that you know that your drainfield is in failure, you have to take the necessary steps to get a repair permit from the Lee County Health Department. Once you have your permit you can have licensed contractors (Including Gator Septic)  review the permit and give you an estimate to repair the system. Included on this site is a printable application for your drainfield repair permit,  you may also have received this form from our service technician if we pumped out your tank and found the system to be in failure.  This application along with 12 months water records (If on public water supply) and a certified receipt from a licensed contractor showing the existing tank size and construction material can be submitted to Lee County for your repair permit. They may also require a site drawing showing the location of your home, property boundaries and location of septic tank if known.

A GATOR WILL BE HAPPY TO OBTAIN YOUR PERMIT FOR YOU AT NO ADDITIONAL COST ABOVE THE COST OF THE PERMIT!

Once you have completed the application it must be dropped off or mailed to
the Lee County Health Department along with a check for $350.00 which is the total
fee for your site evaluation and issuance of your permit. Lee County’s address and information can be gotten by clicking on “Lee County Health Department Address And Information” on our home page.

What if I do not get my system repaired?
Your tank will fill back up and your problems will re-occur.

How long does it take for my tank to fill back up?
An average residential septic tank will hold 900 to 1,000 gallons of water.  Under normal water usage a family of 4 will use that much water in about four to six days.

What does the county do when they perform their site evaluation?
They are going to check for a number of factors to determine the system repair criteria.  The size of the new system, the depth of the excavation and the elevation of the new drainbed are a few.

How much is this going to cost?
There are many factors that determine the cost of work to be performed and a reliable estimate cannot be achieved without having a repair permit to determine those cost.  Once you have your repair permit you will have all of the information needed to get accurate bids.

How long does it take to get my permit?
Once you have applied with Lee County Health Department you can expect a permit in about 7-10 working days. A GATOR SEPTIC WILL BE HAPPY TO OBTAIN YOUR REPAIR PERMIT FOR YOU AT NO ADDITIONAL COST ABOVE THE COST OF THE PERMIT!

How long does the actual job take?
Most repairs will take anywhere from 3 to 4 days to complete once the job is actually started.

Why is it important to make sure the person doing my work has workers
compensation?
If a worker gets injured on your property while having your repair performed and that company is not properly insured with workers compensation you will be liable for their injuries.  Don’t except excuses for not presenting you with proof of liability insurance and workers compensation insurance!!!
